I'm not sure how I feel about blogging about this right now. Because right now, it's November, see. And that means that more of this WHITE STUFF is headed our way for the next several months. And the white stuff is cold. Very cold. And it stays . . .
I'm also so ashamed that I'm just now blogging about this, when it was really last February (eight months ago, people, that's just plain inexcusable)that it happened. But these pictures are just too cool not to blog, so here we go. And it really is a fun memory!
Last February we got one whopper of a snowstorm. In fact, Bethany is still talking about it--she just did today, in fact--eight months later. Anyway, James made a huge pile of snow in our yard and they played, played, played!
I love my two snow monsters:
Okay. Even looking at these cool pictures didn't quite get me excited about facing the oncoming winter. But they helped. Seeing people in the snow who are smiling and happy about it is "step one" of my gearing-up-for-wintertime therapy. I should really learn how to ski or something--some sort of winter sport that would make me really excited for the season. But so far, the only winter sport I'm proficient at is the making and consuming of hot chocolate chip cookies, which seems to be my winter "thing" to get me through. But skiing would probably be healthier for me--healthier, that is, if I don't crash into a tree and/or die. As much as I admire people who ski, there seems to be something just not quite sensible in strapping wooden slats to your feet and barreling down a mountainside. Cookies just seem a little more safe and cozy, although admittedly more fattening. And how did this post somehow evolve into a discussion of skiing vs. cookies? I'd better stop this before it goes any further. So enjoy the pictures. And the end.
